This is a candy shop that
adults will love, too. They are best known for their
wonderful mints, which have actually been celebrated at
presidential inaugurations. However, it's their caramel
peanut clusters that keep me coming back.
If you're fortunate, you
might even catch one of their candy makers creating
chocolate or mint confections through their glassed in
kitchen.

stroke of luck happened to me while I was there taking
pictures for this site. I was wandering around the
shop and a bag of loose stars drew my attention. I'm
from the Midwest where you can get Brach's loose stars for
a Christmas cookie that I love but haven't been able to
make in 10 years. I tried them and they
worked! In case you're from the Midwest, too, and
have been looking for loose stars for Peanut Butter
Blossoms, here is the recipe!
Directions:
Southbound: Take
the 101 to Linden Avenue. Turn right at the stop sign at
the end of the ramp. At the stop lights go straight
and Robitailles is one up on the left.
Northbound:
Take the 101 to Casitas Pass. At the top of the ramp
turn left. When Casita's pass ends on Carpinteria
Avenue, turn right. At the next light (Linden
Avenue) turn left. Robitailles is one up on the
left.
